GREENVILLE, S.C. May 19, 2003 Christian had been thinking about cutting his hair for a while now. Winning the Intercontinental Championship at Judgment Day gave him the perfect reason.
Its time for a change, he said. It was a big step for my career last night winning the IC Title. Its time to kick everything up.
By kicking everything up, Christian is referring to his wrestling and his promos as well as his look.
If Im going to evolve, he said, lets evolve the whole thing.
So this afternoon, Christian walked over to WWEs hair and makeup stylist, sat in her chair and, moments later, had several inches of hair chopped off.
It was definitely a shocker, Christian said upon looking in the mirror. But I like it.
The two-time Intercontinental Champion said he shaved his head in late 1994, and he remembers that the next day, at wrestling school, he mentioned that he was going to grow it out.
From that day, I grew my hair long, he said. And Ive had it long ever since.
But now, he says, his hair will be much easier to care for, and it wont get in his face.
His fellow Superstars seem to like to new do. It seemed like everyone on the RAW roster complimented him on it throughout the day.
I have to get my hair cut more often, he joked. Im getting a lot of attention.
