GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Just minutes after he defeated Test to become the first-ever Unified Intercontinental and United States Champion, WWF.com caught up with Edge to talk about a most awesome night in his life.

WWF.com:
What are you feeling right now?

Edge:
Elation. I am one happy bastard right now. No. 1, because I feel the match went really well. Test and I work pretty well together. There's good chemistry there. No. 2 -- to hold these two championships, that's definitely one thing I didn't think I'd be able to put on the resume when the career was done. Before today, nobody's ever done it. That's not to say that I'm special or anything, but it feels like a special thing. I've always said that getting a title is like receiving an Oscar. I'm just real happy. Real happy.

WWF.com:
That crowd was nuts, too. Talk about the crowd.

Edge:
Good crowd. Great crowd. We tried to come up with a match that built to the end -- started slow and built to the end, and tried to tell a story. We kicked out early a lot in the beginning, like on the one-counts, so when we brought in the two-counts in the end, the crowd would go, "Oh!" And I can always gauge how it goes by the reaction of the crowd to the false finishes at the end, or if they count along. If they count along when the finish goes over, then we've both done our job. And I think we did tonight.

WWF.com:
What's it like to be a part of history -- the first man ever to hold both the Intercontinental and U.S.

Championships simultaneously?

Edge:
Man. What can I say? I really can't put it into words yet. After today, I'm going to go back to the hotel and look at both titles, and go, "Jesus! That's the U.S. Title! That's the IC Title! That's the title that Ric Flair and Ricky Steamboat held! That's the title that Curt Hennig and Bret Hart held!" And now that I hold these two, and the other times I've had the IC, it's kind of mind-boggling to add in the King of the Ring and all the tag titles -- it's been a hell of a year. I can't complain. I'm a happy man. (laughs)

WWF.com:
Was there a lot of pressure heading into today's match?

Edge:
Not really. You always put pressure on yourself to perform and have a good match. But I can't give Test enough credit, because every time we've worked together, it has felt like the crowd was into it. They believe in what's going on and they're interested in what's going on. And I think this may just be the first chapter of Test and I down the road. I can see us coming back together and coming back together again and back together again. And if it works, that's usually the way it happens.

WWF.com:
How do you like working with Test?

Edge:
Love it. There's a very short list of guys that I can wrestle every night, and he's on it. I can't get over the improvement that he's made in these last six months or a year. He's been given the ball, and he's punted that bastard pretty far. He's doing good, and I'm happy for him.

I remember when we first met at Bret Hart's house for the very first time in his ring in his pool room, and we kinda sized each other up -- "OK, two tall, long-haired guys." Then we did tours on Indian reservations in the middle of Ontario and Saskatchewan and places like that, and now we're doing it here. Same with Lance, same with Christian. Even Jericho. It just feels really good.

WWF.com:
So where would you say tonight ranks in your list of career highlights?

Edge:
I don't know. I've always said the first IC Title win was the biggest, because it was at home (at SkyDome in Toronto). And because that one was a complete surprise, too. This one may be right behind it, right up there. When you accomplish a big win in a singles capacity, it just feels different than when you do it as a tag team. I love what we accomplished as a tag team -- never expected that. And it was very special. I'll never forget the memories of that -- each time we won them, and each time we lost them, all the TLC Matches. But now I feel like I'm starting to forge a little path of my own, and it feels prety good.

WWF.com:
You've won the Intercontinental Title at two consecutive Pay-Per-Views, and three of the last four. You also won King of the Ring back in June, and won the Tag Team Championship in the TLC Match at WrestleMania X-Seven. You may be rivaling Rob Van Dam for that "Mr. Pay-Per-View" moniker.

Edge:
You sit there and think, "Yeah -- that's a hell of a year!

" Now I'm just going to try and hold on to the IC Title for more than two weeks. I never actually sat down and thought about it, but one day I was talking to Christian, and I said, "Man, you've held everything but the Heavyweight Title!" And he said, "Yeah, you've had a pretty good year too!" It just feels damn good. I know I keep saying that, but -- wow.
