NASHVILLE, Tenn. - May 19, 2002 - If they continue their recent streak of dazzling matches, Edge and Kurt Angle could threaten RVD for the title "Mr. Pay-Per-View."

For the second straight month, Edge and Kurt Angle exceeded expectations and put forth arguably the night's most entertaining match. Not an easy feat considering the quality of the Hell in a Cell and WWE Championship matches.

"It's easy when you're working with a guy like Edge," Angle told WWE.com. "I mean the guy's phenomenal. He deserves to be where he is right now. I do believe it was one of the better matches of the show. You always hope that you can make a huge impact and have the best match of the show."

Judgment Day proved that Backlash was no fluke and that Edge truly has the ability to make his presence felt in the singles division. "I'm ecstatic right now," he said. "I honestly think the last two Pay-Per-Views have been my best matches. I'm feeling real good. I think I'm hitting my stride. The confidence is there now and Kurt is helping with that."

Despite the brutality of the fast-paced match, neither man complained of significant injuries following the match. "It was very stiff," said Angle of the event. "I thought that we needed that to get the fans rolling. They were always watching but they were waiting for the end. Sometimes you go to a city where they just want to see what the ending is going to be. But they watched. We definitely got the reaction we wanted. Before the match went off, we just started laying into each other. That's just the way it is sometimes."

Of course, fans were eager to see which superstar would lose his hair at the night's end. According to Edge, that stipulation helped the two superstars capture the fans' interest from the opening bell, which in turn helped fuel the performance. "What helps is when that kind of emotion comes out, you feed off of it," Edge said. "When we got those false finishes so well, you can't help but being emotional and it makes the match that much better."

Following having his cranium shaved to the smoothness of a cue ball, Angle admitted that he would like to keep his new look. Edge, who had been considering cutting his locks prior to the hair vs. hair storyline, now says he'll be keeping them for the time being. "I'm going to have to wait a while now, but at some point it's going to have to change," he said. "I don't want to be 40 years old with a ponytail. But the hair covers up the fact I'm not a pretty-boy. People don't realize that I'm really not a good-looking guy."
